I’m just announcing that up front.
UGH! I got a letter from the nursing program today – “All nursing applicants are required to take the reading portion of the college placement test.” Um, HELLO? I have a BACHELOR’S DEGREE. They said that SAT scores can count, except they don’t count them after more than 5 years. (Mine are 10 years old.). I took the GRE last summer and scored well above the required SAT verbal score – but they don’t accept the GRE (no no no, we’re a junior/community college, the GRE isn’t good enough for us!). The application deadline for spring is today. Their office does not open until Monday.
AAARRRGGHHHH! I’m getting so tired of all of this. I’m not paying money to take a COLLEGE PLACEMENT TEST. And what do they think, that I forgot how to read in the 10 years since I took my SAT? Of course, they send this letter so I get it on a Saturday and I can’t do anything about it until Monday. Great. So I get to sit and stew all weekend. Why can’t something be easy for once?

Mom visited this week and we had a great time… lots of knitting and relaxing! Because you can’t go to Florida and not visit the beach, we went Saturday morning before the holiday weekend crowds and took a walk on the beach. We went to Sonic (twice) for slush drinks, and of course to the yarn store, but mostly we just hung out and relaxed.
Grandma – I need your expertise! We had lots of activity at the bird feeder this week with the usual suspects, but we saw a new little guy that I didn’t recognize. He’s red with a white streak along the side of his head, and maybe half the size of the cardinals. He’s very fast and hopped around on the ground a lot, but I never saw him eat at the feeder. Any idea what he is?

Tomorrow is my last night off before I head back to work… I could get used to this vacation thing!

My second Sock Wars victim’s a-sox-ination is in progress… mailed out her socks today. I haven’t heard anything more from my assassin in about a week, so I’ll have to continue watching my back while I wait to get new SIP’s.
On the bright side, Mom is coming tomorrow! I have a total of six days off from work to relax, knit, spin, and NOT work. If I do meet my (Sock Wars) death, at least I’ll be relaxed.

I received my targets socks-in-progress today, so I’m back in the game! No pictures (I need to have some secrets for my new victim), but I’ll reassure her that they will be a lovely way to go.

I finished the ILV… sort of. It’s a leeeetle to small – mostly in the arm and neck bind offs. I’ll redo those with a larger needle, then block the heck out of it and hope for the best. I got it on and it’s cute – but my arms would lose circulation after about twenty seconds of wearing it. Keeping my fingers crossed!
Tomorrow starts five days in a row at work, then Mom will be here!
