This long break between posts is brought to you by the letters F-L-U.  I came down sick last Saturday morning while I was up in NY, and today my fever is finally broken.  I still have a cough and I’m really tired, but to finally be a normal temperature is making such a difference.  As a parting gift I also got viral conjunctivitis in both eyes on Wednesday and Thursday, but it’s mostly cleared up now.  I’m really glad that I got prescription sunglasses last month, because I haven’t been able to wear contacts all week.  I worked my first full shift last night and it went OK – I survived, but I had no voice by the end of the night.

I’ve realized I can gauge how sick I am by my knitting mojo.  I haven’t knit a stitch since last Saturday because I just felt too sick to knit.  Thursday night here at home I felt a little better so I carded up some of the brown fleece I brought back from Rochester, but that’s been the extent of my craftiness all week.  If tonight goes OK at work, I might actually cast on a sock or something!

Here’s some of what I’ve been up to:

Yarn is in the steamer as we speak, pictures soon.  These bright, saturated colors are really helping to scratch my color itch.  Now I just have to stop myself from spinning them!
