4 months until the big day! Things are falling into place. We found a DJ this week, and I put a down payment on my wedding ring last night! We also got our favors this week and started putting them together. I’m slowly addressing invitations. And now there are only 4 months to go! Yay
Archive for January, 2010Rather than blab on and on about what we’ve been up to, I’m going to sum it up with pictures:
Molly wearing my Snuggie. She didn’t like it much, but luckily I do!
Our award-winning Ugly Christmas Sweaters from the front…
And from the back! (See the lights?)
We went to Rochester for a couple days, and got a taste of winter!
We spent most of the trip huddled under blankets.
So far this year, I have knit a sock. (Pattern is “Cauchy” from Cookie’s Sock Innovation book, yarn is Hazel Knits.) I cranked this one out in a couple weeks, and hopefully the momentum will keep up and I’ll finish the second one soon too. Ever since we froze in NY I’m addicted to my handknit socks again, and I want to use my new sock book (thanks Mom!) to knit a pair each month this year. Doctors Without Borders was already in Haiti providing medical care when the earthquake hit. Now they are not only trying to help treat the many thousands of killed and wounded, many of them were killed or wounded as well. The Yarn Harlot is a lot more eloquent than I am, but I wanted to spread the word. I’m back in Florida after a whirlwind trip to NY, and trying to gear up to get back to “real life.” Last night I worked night 1 of 3 in a row, and Monday I start my fourth (and LAST) semester of nursing school. I had hoped to spend Thursday night cleaning the house and getting everything in order before the mad rush of school began again, but some wintry weather got in my way. I cleared off the dining room table and my desk this morning, so I’m starting to feel a little closer to ready – but I still have several loads of laundry to do, Christmas to put away, bread to bake, grocery shopping to do…but for now it’s time for bed. |
